Israeli Group Peace [sic] Now Shows "Solidarity"

But it's not with the tens of thousands of Lebanese civilians killed, wounded, or displaced by Israel's attacks as it engages in the "legitimate defense of boarders [sic]." Peace Now claims to be "the largest extra-parliamentary movement in Israel, the country’s oldest peace movement and the only peace group to have a broad public base. " Turns out, they're Jewish supremacists like most Israelis.

Note to so-called Peace Now: The apartheid state you live in is not legitimate and neither is 'defending' it. If you want peace then end your government's occupation of Arab lands, including the illegally annexed Golan Heights and East Jerusalem; let millions of Palestinians refugees return to their homes; and stop treating Arab and other non-Jewish citizens of Israel as second-class citizens.
Peace Now Mission to the North

Last weekend a group of Peace Now activists traveled to the north in order to show solidarity with the residents suffering the barrage of missile attacks. Peace Now activists visit was aimed at sending a message that the state of Israel has the right to respond to attacks on its sovereign soil carried out from entities beyond its internationally recognized boarders.

For the past 30 years Peace Now has called upon Israel to return to internationally recognized boarders in its conflict with the Palestinians and was at the forefront of the public pressure to encourage the withdrawal from Lebanon. It is within this background that Peace Now feels our message of legitimate defense of boarders is to be heard.

The activists were hosted in Kibbutz Gonen in the northern Galilee, where they toured areas that had suffered missile attacked and met with representatives of the residents including Meir Levi, the chairperson of the village and kibbutz tourist organization in the Galilee and Golan. In addition the group also met Aaron Valanci the city mayor for the Galilee and Golan. Valnaci welcomed the mission and hoped that it would set a precedent for other groups and organisations to also visit the area in these difficult times.
